Sales Team Profile - Shauna Clapham

Shauna Clapham was born and brought up in Guernsey and apart from time spent away from the Island for education and her early work years she has been here ever since. This, obviously, makes her ideally qualified to help newcomers to learn the intricacies of island life.

She was educated at Guernsey's Ladies College and left there in 1982 to spend three years in Birmingham studying Foreign Languages for Business. After graduating she spent two 'fun years' in Portugal as a PA to a property developer and started to become quite fascinated by the new world she had entered. Late in 1987 having returned to Guernsey she had already decided that Estate Agency was the career for her.

Starting with Swoffers as a secretary based in our persistently busy reception she knew immediately that she had found her niche. She quickly moved into a negotiating role with local market sales but was soon ear-marked for a move to the open market department where she has remained till this day.

In 1996 she became a Director of the Company and, more recently, joint owner of Swoffers. Along the way she has found time to meet and marry Mark, her cricket mad husband, and they now have two young sons.

Needless to say, Shauna has a busy life but she still finds time, with her co-Directors, to host special events from small gatherings to our well established annual charity ball. These functions enable us to entertain newcomers and help them to integrate into island life by introducing them to a new network of friends and associates.

Shauna has a real and genuine passion for her career and her maxim that 'you get out of it what you put in – and a bit more' has been fundamental in her truly enjoying the life she leads.
