Swoffers is wholly owned and run by Matthew Henry, Shauna Clapham, Spencer Noyon and Craig Whitman. Boasting over 40 years of experience between us, we do not hide behind desks but are instead keen to keep our negotiating skills sharp by remaining at the active end of the business.
Well known within the community, each of us brings different skills to the table.
Matthew has an accounting and trust background, having worked for one of the big 5 accountancy firms before joining Swoffers. Since then, he has become widely recognised as an Open Market specialist, at the same time dealing with the management aspect of an estate agency employing 26 staff. Extrovert and with a sense of humour never far below the surface, Matthew is a mad keen sailor and is Commodore of the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club.
Spencer spent several years working for the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, which is responsible for the regulation of banks, insurance and investment companies on the Island, and then went on to hold a position with a leading international private bank before joining Swoffers. As a fairly fanatical cricketer and keen hockey player, he is well known on the Island's sports scene, having represented both Guernsey and the Channel Islands at the latter. When not at work or on the sports field, his wife, young daughter and son keep him more than occupied!
Shauna's bubbly personality reflects an impressive track record in selling houses - she is, after all, the lady who whisked an English couple from the airport to a house they had no details on and, within an hour, negotiated the sale, all on the same day that Swoffers had received instructions for it! She became involved in estate agency after working as a P.A. for a property developer in Europe and has never looked back since. As with Spencer, her young family means that she is constantly juggling the demands of being a full time mum with that of actively selling Open Market homes.
Craig was born and brought up in Cape Town, South Africa and, having worked internationally, now considers Guernsey as his home. He feels strongly that his own experience in moving to the Island and integrating into the Guernsey community helps him to identify with his clients and gives him first hand knowledge, in turn, to help smooth their way into not only their new property but the Guernsey way of life. Craig not only relishes work within the local business environment but also enjoys the sporting and social opportunities the Island has to offer and, with a wife and two small daughters to keep him busy at home, he is never at a loss for something to do!
Between us, we run Swoffers as a family firm and we hope this is reflected in the service we provide to you - no request is too big or too small. If you need help with any aspect of Guernsey property, please pick up the phone and give us a call - we would love to help you.
