In The Community

Swoffers has been an active supporter of local charity and community organisations throughout our forty two year history.

These are just some of the more recent projects we have contributed towards:

We have number of cricketers amongst our staff and are proud to announce that Andy Biggins, one of our local market negotiators and a well-known local cricketer, who has played for Guernsey on a number of occasions, has been appointed assistant coach to the Island side. So we are naturally delighted to be sponsoring deal Guernsey Cricket’s Weekend League Cricket Programme over the next three years.

The league is the grounding for players with aspirations to represent Guernsey in international cricket around the world and, following the recruitment of a former professional cricketer to manage the Island Cricket Team, we have no doubt that the sport is going to take on a much higher profile in years to come. To further encourage this, we’re also sponsoring a ‘Player of the Month.’

For the last three years we have been the proud sponsors of the L’Ancresse Open Golf tournament, the largest golf tournament in the Channel Islands, which raises over £2,000 each year for local charities.

We’re pleased to be able to sponsor Colin Fallaize MBE, the Assistant Coach of the successful community based football club Guernsey FC and are watching with interest as the team goes from strength to strength.

Every Child Our Future

One of our chosen charities of 2013 was ‘Every Child our Future’ which helps improve the literacy skills of infant and primary school children in the. Many our staff gave their time to read to the children and and thoroughly enjoyed doing so.

Les Bourgs Hospice

We’re long term supporters of the wonderful work Les Bourgs Hospice does in caring for the Island’s terminally ill and over the past 15 years we have raised in excess of £100,000 for them by organising Charity Balls and taking on physical challenges.

Staff Committment

As part of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, all Swoffers staff are given two days a year by the company to assist local charities and voluntary organisations of their choice. Charities supported include Headway and The Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation. In recent years team fund raising events we have undertaken for local charities include cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End, The London Marathon and the Three Peaks challenge.

If you have a charity initiative you think we could help with, please contact us and if we can help you, we will.
